This position is on the West side of Rochester and may require floating to various school districts such as Greece, Spencerport, Brockport, and more, providing support to their special education students. What You'll Be Doing: Making Every Day Count!
This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity where you'll be a key player in shaping the daily success and growth of our students. You'll work directly with students ages 3-22, supporting them to thrive both academically and socially.
- Be an energetic and reliable presence, actively supervising and observing students throughout the day—from classroom lessons to lunch and transitions.
- Jump into action, both independently and as part of a team, to guide, instruct, and encourage children during both structured and spontaneous educational and recreational activities.
- Help students build essential life skills by assisting them in learning and practicing effective coping and conflict resolution skills.
- Bring classroom goals to life! You will be a vital implementer of the academic and behavioral plans developed by the instructional team.
- Support teaching efforts by assisting the lead teacher with small group instruction and providing direct assistance to students as needed.
- Collaborating with the teacher in providing progress notes and incident reports as needed
- Keep your finger on the pulse! Maintain a strong awareness of each student's treatment plan and constantly observe how daily activities and relationships impact those goals.
- Collaborate effectively with the instructional team, providing timely and professional progress notes and incident reports to ensure everyone is informed.

- Pay: $19 - $21 per hour, depending on experience.
Qualifications:
- Must obtain, purchase, and pass background check through NYSED.
- Able to perform physical job duties that include walking, standing for long periods of time, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- A valid drivers license and transportation.
- NOTE: You may be asked to travel to different schools and facilities on the west side during the day.
