Shop Operations Manager (E-Commerce + Fulfillment) - Direct Hire

Honeoye Falls, NY

Shop Operations Manager (E-Commerce + Fulfillment)
📍 Rochester, NY (In-Person)
🕒 Full-Time | $27–$31/hour (depending on experience)

About Our Customer
TES Staffing is supporting a premium fingerboard brand with a serious following. They design and manufacture high-quality products and ship them directly to customers through their website and Amazon.
They are not a corporate warehouse. They are a fast-moving, tight team building something niche, fun, and real.
If you’re the kind of person who thrives on running a smooth operation, leading people well, and keeping orders flowing without chaos — this role is for you.

The Role
TES is looking to hire a Shop Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day fulfillment and shop operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role â€” you’ll run the shipping/fulfillment workflow, manage inventory flow, coordinate with production/R&D, and make sure customer orders go out accurately and on time.
You don’t need to be a Shopify expert — but you do need to understand what it means to support an e-commerce business and how fulfillment impacts the customer experience.
You’ll be the person who keeps the shop organized, the team focused, and the operation running cleanly.

What You’ll Own (Day-to-Day)
Fulfillment + Shipping Operations
  • Lead daily pick/pack/ship workflow
  • Ensure orders ship accurately and on schedule
  • Oversee packing, labeling, staging, and shipment organization
  • Create and manage Amazon FBA shipments
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace with clear product visibility
Team Leadership
  • Lead and support a small shop team (including coordination with R&D/production staff)
  • Set priorities, assign work, and keep the day moving
  • Coach and develop team members (this is a leadership-heavy role)
  • Help create structure, consistency, and accountability
Production Readiness + Packaging
  • Coordinate with the R&D/Production Manager to ensure products are “ship-ready”
  • Handle final packaging, labeling, light assembly, and quality checks
  • Identify problems early and prevent last-minute scramble shipping
Purchasing + Vendor Coordination
  • Create and track purchase orders
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage receiving
  • Keep supplies stocked so fulfillment never stalls
Customer Experience Support
  • Handle or oversee day-to-day customer service support
  • Spot recurring issues and bring solutions to leadership

What Success Looks Like
  • Orders go out on time and accurately, every day
  • The shop is clean, organized, and running with structure
  • Inventory and staging areas are clear and controlled
  • Amazon FBA replenishment is proactive
  • The team knows exactly what’s ready to ship and what needs attention
  • Problems get solved before they become emergencies
Who We’re Looking For
This is a great fit for someone who has worked in:
  • e-commerce fulfillment
  • warehouse operations for a consumer product brand
  • shipping/receiving leadership
  • small-team operations environments
You should be someone who leads from the front — organized, hands-on, and able to keep people moving without micromanaging.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience leading a fulfillment, warehouse, or operations workflow
  • Strong team leadership experience (this is critical)
  • Comfortable working hands-on with physical products
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable follow-through
  • Comfortable using basic systems (spreadsheets, order/shipping platforms)
Bonus Points If You Have…
  • Amazon FBA shipment experience
  • Shopify, e-commerce, or DTC operations exposure
  • Light manufacturing / production coordination experience
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Interest in skateboarding, fingerboarding, surfing, BMX, or similar culture
(Not required — but we’d love it.)
Why Work here?
  • A niche brand with a loyal customer base and real momentum (~$5M revenue annually)
  • A stable company with steady year-over-year growth goals
  • A hands-on leadership role where you run the operation (not just babysit it)
  • You’ll be trusted to take ownership and improve how things run
  • You’ll work closely with leadership and be part of the core team
Pay & Schedule
  • Full-time, in-person role in Rochester, NY
  • Hourly pay up to $31/hour depending on experience

100% paid medical Benefits, healthy PTO and vacation, 401k, development
