Job Description: Substitute Teacher Aide
Pay rate: $128/day
Term of Employment: Per Diem (2024-2025 School Year
Location: Charter Schools of Rochester (various locations)

TES Staffing is on the lookout for enthusiastic Substitute Teacher Aides to support the Charter Schools of Rochester. This role is perfect for those seeking a flexible schedule – you can adjust your availability week-to-week, and work in various locations throughout Rochester. Whether you're a college student, a retiree, or someone looking to break into the education field, this opportunity is tailor-made for you. While prior childcare experience is a plus, it's not a must – we're more interested in your passion for helping kids learn and grow!

What You'll Do:
  • Assist classroom teachers by providing instructional services to students, working one-on-one or with small groups, and proctoring tests.
  • Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and playgrounds, ensuring their safety and engagement.
  • Use positive behavior management strategies to maintain a calm and productive classroom environment, and step in during crises with confidence and care.
  • Work closely with your team to support all students effectively and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in your interactions with both adults and students.
  • Keep track of student progress and document it accurately.
  • Provide additional assistance to students with special needs, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Help with student arrival and dismissal procedures, both inside and outside the building.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year of paid or volunteer experience working with children, in an educational setting, or with people with disabilities. Alternatively, a minimum of 30 college credit hours.
  • Must obtain and pass background check through NYSED
  • Must be physically capable of performing all required duties.
