Flooring Sales and Project Management

Our client, headquartered in Western New York is currently searching for a Sales Consultant/Project Management for their Manhattan territory.

As a commercial flooring company  that  serves  customers throughout New York State, they sell, install, and maintain any  type of  flooring for  a wide range of  commercial  customers. They're dedicated to  exceeding their  customers’ expectations  one  floor  at a time, and they're  also dedicated to being   a cohesive, caring, and collaborative  team.

This Sales Consultant will be responsible for establishing new account as well as        maintaining current accounts within  the region. The salesperson will be responsible for  lead     generation  and conversion, customer  outreach  and service, and  will manage customer            interaction and project management  from opportunity  creation to  project completion.

This is a Direct Hire Position
Salary: Base + Commission, based on experience.  First year earning anticipated at $100k
Leads are provided, must be comfortable in a K-12 and Healthcare enviroments 

Essential  Functions       
  • Create and nurture leads   
  • Maintain contact with current customers  to ensure their needs are met     
  • Conduct walk-through and take detailed measurements  of potential project areas  
  • Assist  customers in  selecting  flooring products that will meet their needs  
  • Complete take-offs  and  create  clear  and comprehensive proposals for projects;          work with internal staff to finalize proposals        
  • Ensure careful attention to detail to eliminate any mistakes and ensure appropriate     profit   margin (from  proposal  through completed project)
  • Follow  up with  customers to track  status  of  proposals        
  • Coordinate with colleagues  to schedule installation for flooring projects          
  • Collaborate  with  colleagues  to ensure material orders, work  orders, pick tickets, etc. are  processed  according to project needs  
  • Communicate  with customer  and installer throughout project
  • Arrange logistics as necessary to ensure a successful flooring installation                 
  • Conduct site  visit after projects are complete to  ensure customer satisfaction     
  • Continue to maintain good  relationships  with  customers  to ensure they’re happy  and all their flooring  needs  are  met     
  • Regularly update company CRM with sales  activity           
  • Reach  or  exceed sales  targets
  • Ability to learn flooring based computer software
Education  and Experience     
  • Bachelor degree preferred,  or Associate’s  Degree with equivalent  experience
  • Minimum 4 years   of experience in sales or construction               
  • Excellent  communication skills (verbal and written)                      
  • Excellent  interpersonal  skills   
  • Effective  problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with construction field concepts, practices and procedures preferred 
Physical  Requirements/Working  Conditions      
  • Ability to  sit or  stand  for  extended  periods of  time    
  • Occasional exposure  to construction  site conditions (may require use  of safety  equipment)
