Practice Coordinator

TES Staffing is proud to partner with one of Rochesters largest healthcare institutions to assist in the need for a Practice Coordinator. The Practice Coordinator is responsible for educating front end users on the expected standards for key deliverables including but not limited to; patient experience, quality care, fiscal responsibility and team member satisfaction. This individual will provides ongoing education and acts as a resource for front end users. The coordinator supports the organization best practices; develops an action plan for those areas in which best practices are unable to be followed. In working with the leadership,  the educator will identify areas of probable concern and opportunities for optimization either requiring request for change or a modification in workflow. Will be able to recognize and escalate inappropriate workflows in order to stop downstream complications.

Department: Gastroenterology
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:
  • Is a resource to the Ambulatory departments to answer questions and troubleshoot system problems that relate to front end revenue cycle curriculum.
  • Continues to create and update educational tools to supplement Care Connect training and standard system upgrades.
  • Orients new team members to standard expectations of the Access Associate Role.
  • Provides classroom, or one on one support to identified team members.
  • Acts as a resource for questions regarding standardized workflows.
  • Tracks and documents correlations in gaps of training and workflows
  • Supports best practices to help meet revenue cycle metrics scorecard.
  • In collaboration with Corporate Compliance, Site Leadership and FERC/Patient Access Leadership, ensures that all regulatory procedures are followed.
Other Responsibilities
  • Works collaboratively with Manager to ensure monthly/quarterly reporting.
  • May be responsible for departmental orientation/precepting oversight for new non-provider staff and may assist the manager with preparations for the ongoing and annual performance appraisals of the non-provider staff.
  • Maintains/assists office staffing schedules and provides a procedure for covering absences, including floating of internal staff, usage of per diem and/or temps, and sharing staff between offices.
  • Provide support to the Manager for accurate completion and timely submission of departmental time sheets/payroll activities.
  • Attends and/or participates in documented monthly meetings; including developing an agenda for staff meetings and disseminating information to office staff.
  • Assists with oversight of departmental office supplies within budget.
  • Performs all functions of medical secretary when necessary.
  • Assumes leadership role in the practice manager absence.

  • HIM and Data Integrity 
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 3 years previous experience in office operations or Patient Access operation.
  • AAS preferred.
  • Two years of medical office experience with computer systems.
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
  • Computer experience needed with Word, Excel, Groupwise and Cerner.
  • Must have excellent keyboard skills and be familiar with the Windows environment.
