Job Title: Substitute Classroom Aide
Pay: $16.29-16.69/hr

 
Job Description:
As a Substitute Classroom Aide, you will have the opportunity to create a flexible schedule on a week-to-week basis while providing essential support to students throughout the Rochester City School District. Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the lead teacher in implementing curriculum and educational activities.
  • Implement positive behavior management strategies to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of classroom projects, materials, and activities.
  • Foster an atmosphere of creativity and learning by engaging with students
  • Support children of all ages and ability levels to ensure inclusive participation and success.
  • Make children feel safe, supported, and encouraged in their educational journey.
 
Requirements
  • Must be able to physically perform all job duties without restrictions. Work is typically performed when walking or standing. Frequent walking, standing, lifting, up to approximately 25 pounds. Other physical activities are required, such as, but not limited to bending, stooping, reaching, and grasping. Escorting, walking with, or in some cases running after students in multiple settings such as in community based activities, nature walks and school buildings. Occasional transporting/moving of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; must have proof of education.
  • Must be able to complete background check through NYSED.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work on short notice.
  • Possession of a team player attitude and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Passion for working with children and dedication to their academic and emotional well-being.
