Medical Office Admin

This role presents an exceptional and rare opportunity to join a team and get your foot in the door with Rochester's largest teaching hospital.  This opportunity offers robust training and is looking to promote someone from spot over time.  In addition, this will give an admin hands on experience within the Surgical Pathology team, ultimately growing their experience.
 
We are looking for an entry level candidate who is looking to gain a greater understanding of the administrative field. 

Details:
Monday-Friday, 9a-5:3p (No evenings, no weekends)
$15-17/hr 
Contract to hire after 8 weeks.  Full and incredible medical benefits, 401k, tuition reimbursement, continued education offered 
 
Specific Responsibilities:
  • The admin is responsible to learn and utilize computer software and systems required to process and input data.
  • Responsible to accurately document results in controlled logbooks, bench sheets, etc.
  • Responsible to put prep batches together and accurately review this information for compliance and completeness.
  • Answer phones from internal departments 
  • Pull slides, file reports, fax slides
  • Package materials go out via FedEx/Courier Services 
  • Data Entry and Meticulous Administration of reports into computer system (ERECORD preferred, not required).
  • Handle hazardous material appropriately and safely. Use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • A commitment to cross training.
  • Diligent work ethic and the ability to work as a team member
  • Familiarity with computer systems; A working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets a plus
  • Knowledge of basic lab skills, i.e. use of balances, pipettes, quantitative transfer of samples
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details
  • High energy level, confidence, and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Strong commitment to quality and integrity.
 Physical Demands:
  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working; 
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers;
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware;
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment;
  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone;
