Job Title: Shared Desktop Technician (Contract-to-Perm Opportunity)
Location: Greece, New York
Pay Rate: $21–$26/hour, Depending on experience 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (includes 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Position Overview

The Shared Desktop Technician serves as the primary point of contact for end users, providing support and maintenance across the district’s desktop computing environment. This role supports both PC and Chromebook devices and ensures all technology is functioning efficiently to meet the needs of students and staff.

This is a contract role expected to run through July, with a strong possibility of extension or permanent placement for high-performing candidates. Permanent employees are eligible for New York State public school benefits, including healthcare, pension, and other district offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for staff and students across multiple school locations
• Install, configure, diagnose, repair, and maintain PC and Chromebook hardware
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
• Perform upgrades and ensure optimal performance of workstations and devices
• Respond to help desk requests in a timely and professional manner
• Support device deployments, imaging, and inventory management
• Travel between school sites as needed

Requirements

• Prior experience in desktop support, IT help desk, or similar role preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks across multiple locations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation (for travel between sites)

Important Requirements

• NYS Fingerprint Clearance is required prior to start (mandatory for working in a K-12 school environment)
