Accounting & Office Coordinator (Contract-to-Hire)

Pay Range: $21–$25/hour

Position Overview

TES Staffing is partnering with a growing construction-focused organization to identify an Accounting & Office Coordinator. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of accounting support and front desk responsibilities and is excited to grow into a more permanent, expanded role over time.

Initially, this position will focus heavily on processing purchasing card (pcard) receipts and front desk support, with the potential to take on additional accounting, administrative, and construction-related responsibilities as the role evolves and fit is established.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchasing card (pcard) receipts and accurately code expenses to the appropriate job or division

  • Follow up with technicians on missing pcard receipts to ensure timely and complete entry

  • Order and activate purchasing cards for field staff

  • Research unapplied payments and discrepancies on customer accounts

  • Initiate payment inquiries and reminders to customers, including delinquent accounts

  • Maintain and update AR customer contact lists

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers

  • Maintain active subcontractor certificates of insurance

  • Assist Project Managers on an ad hoc basis with special bid or award requirements

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls (limited daily volume)

  • Provide general front desk and office support as needed

  • Professional and customer-focused communication skills

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of accounting or office support experience

  • Experience with accounting systems in construction or project-based environments preferred (COINS experience a plus)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Mechanical or construction industry background preferred
