Job Description:
- Assist classroom teachers by providing instructional services to students, including working with individuals or small groups, and test proctoring.
- Supervise students in various settings such as classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, and playgrounds.
- Manage classroom behavior and intervene during crises using positive behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with team members to support all students effectively.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in communication with adults and students.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures inside or outside the building.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. with one year of paid or volunteer experience working with children, in an educational setting, or with people with disabilities. Alternatively, a minimum of 30 college credit hours.
- Must pass a background screening with the N.Y.S. Education Department.
- Physically capable of performing all required duties.
