PAY:  $148/day

Responsibilities:
  • Create a flexible schedule and customize availability week-to-week based on preferred locations and age groups.
  • Follow established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which you are assigned.
  • Provide continuity of quality instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Maintain classroom discipline during instructional time, lunch, and recess periods.
  • Establish effective working relationships with staff, students, and the community.
  • Adapt instructional programs to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Communicate classroom activities, completed work, homework assignments, and any problems to the absent teacher.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
  • Attend meetings and serve on staff committees as appropriate.
  • Follow NY State Education Department's regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by school building administrators.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 1 year of related childcare/teaching experience.
  • Certified Teachers Preferred but not required.
  • Must meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to obtain and pass a criminal background check with NYSED (Clearance for Employment).
